ALTERNATE VERSIONS
In What If..? (2nd series) #84, Shard traveled back in time instead of Bishop. In this timeline, Fitzroy killed Bishop instead of being captured, and so Shard was never sent to the nest of Emplates. Shard pursued Fitzroy backwards in time and recruited the X-Men to help find him. 
However, she then murdered Fitzroy in cold blood rather than arrest him, to the X-Men’s horror. Shard had none of her brother’s hero worship for the “legendary X-Men” and refused to listen to Xavier, Storm and the others decrying her tactics. Shard hoped to found the X.S.E. in the present and prevent her future by showing early on that mutants could police their own. Instead, Graydon Creed used her as an example of how even mutants believed they own kind were a threat, a propaganda victory that led to the eradication of all mutants.
