First story :
Cyclops' broken visor lies on the floor in a dark room. Jubilee sits on the floor, covered from head to toe in mechanical restraints and monitoring equipment. Bastion gives a brief history of Cyclops to Jubilee. He tells her that he was the first X-Man and that he possessed a powerful optic blast that could only be contained by the visor that now lies on the floor. Jubilee comments on how Bastion has a serious problem with the past tense to which he replies that he doesn't. Jubilee sees through his plan though; he is trying to get her to be emotional so that she would reveal the important information about the X-Men. Bastion walks out of the room and closes the door behind him, leaving the young girl alone with the broken visor to think.
Jubilee sits alone in the room remembering a few nights before when she first met Bastion. She was being chased by a deranged Mondo, and she thought that Bastion was there to save her. Jubilee realizes that Bastion's intentions are anything but valiant and as she thinks of this, she starts to cry. She faces the exit that Bastion just took and tells him that she knows that Cyclops would never die at the hands of a loser like him.
Outside the chamber, that is really not an enclosed room but a holographic platform that gives the illusion of entrapment, Bastion stares at Jubilee as his assistant, Daria, questions him. She thinks that he is being too cruel. After all, she's just a kid. However, he states that it is a cruel world and she would do better to concentrate on the machinery to make sure that it doesn't malfunction. To her statement about her being a child, he says that it is the contrary; she is a mutant and her psionic defenses are truly underdeveloped. All that Bastion needs to do is trigger a harsh emotional reaction and her thoughts will show up on his monitor and give him the information that he needs. Bastion snaps at Daria to watch the monitors as they swirl with color, solidifying into the image of a young Jubilee sitting on a couch.
(flashback)
Jubilee is contemplating death as she thinks about Illyana, after her funeral. Cyclops comes out to console Jubilee, much to her dismay. She is intimidated by him and doesn't think that he will be that good of a counselor. They start talking about the funeral and Jubilee mentions how surprising it was to see Wolverine cry. Cyclops confides in her that Wolverine is really a big softy and goes on to tell Jubilee about his adopted daughter, Amiko. They continue to talk and bond as the memory fades from the screen.

Bastion sits in contemplation at the blank screen as Daria tries in vain to get his attention.
At the Massachusetts Academy, the White Queen's chauffeurs, Bumpkin and his friend, sit around picking moss out of their teeth from being buried by Black Tom Cassidy's vines. In a back room, the White Queen telepathically probes Banshee to see if there is any information stored in his subconscious that may help them find out where the children are being held prisoner. During the probing, Banshee gets a flash of the original X-Men entangled on Krakoa, the living island. He snaps to his senses with an idea of where the children are, and blasts off through the roof, heading to find the children.
Jubilee kicks her food dishes at Bastion, telling him that she would rather starve. The food splatters on his chest and he wipes it off. He says that that statement is ironic because that is exactly what Bishop said before he killed him.
Outside, Daria watches in disgust. She wants to do something to help the girl, but she can only sit and watch while Bastion pushes Jubilee's buttons. Daria turns to the screens as they come alive with the image of another memory, this time of Jubilee's introduction to Bishop. Storm introduces the two, and Bishop calls Jubilee the last X-Man. Jubilee thinks that it must be true since Bishop is from eighty years in the future. Daria watches intently as she ponders how Bastion will pick apart every scrap of information that he extracts from Jubilee's head so that Operation: Zero Tolerance could begins in earnest.
Back in the holding cell, Jubilee tells Bastion that there is no way that she will ever believe that he killed all of the X-Men while she slept. Bastion just smiles and says that he didn't say that they were all dead...yet. He instructs Daria to open the "window". Jubilee looks through it and tears start to well up in her eyes. Before her sits Wolverine, surrounded by electric generators and bound with metal wire. He is stubbornly refusing to reveal the location of the X-Men. Bastion flips a switch and Wolverine in shocked with several thousand volts of electricity. Bastion shuts the process down and Wolverine bows his head. In a barely audible voice, he pleads for Bastion to stop. Bastion turns to Jubilee and gives her the offer to end Wolverine's suffering, only for the small price of the information that he requires. Jubilee slowly lifts her tear-stained eyes to look at Bastion, then starts to chuckle. The chuckle slowly mutates into full blown laughter, echoing on the walls of the chamber.
Daria gazes in wonderment at the young girl, thinking to herself that Jubilee is on to their plan, since not a single image showed up on the screen. Daria watches Jubilee as she mocks Bastion.
Jubilee is still recovering from her laughing spell as she explains to him. She said that Bastion almost had her believing that that was actually Wolverine, but they over dramatized it. Jubilee knows that Wolverine would never beg. In fact, he would probably die before he did so. She then kicks the remainder of her food at him, taunting him and kicking him in the face several times. She gives him a speech about human and mutant equality, saying that if the only reason he is doing what he is doing is for humanity, then she would rather be a mutant and he can keep his "humanity". Bastion glares manacingly at Jubilee, clenching his fists.
Daria turns to the monitors with a perplexed look on her face. The monitors seem to be picking up Bastion's memories instead of Jubilee's. A robotic hand pierces the surface of a pink puddle, bonding the material to its metal skin. The figure continues to rise until a man emerges with green markings on his body. He utters two solitary words, "At. Last." Daria's bewilderment grows as she looks at the image. She turns around to see that Bastion is beating Jubilee. He walks over to her, cradling her face in his hands and tells her that his humanity is the only thing that is keeping her alive. He stands up and calmly walks out of the room. Jubilee screams after him that he can do whatever he wants to do to her, but she will not break no matter what.
Bastion stomps outside the room and is confronted by a concerned Daria. She tries to confront him about what she saw on the monitors, but Bastion quickly dismisses it and then tells her that he wants all of the information collected from Jubilee processed within the hour. She is then to alert the Operation: Zero Tolerance team and have them mobilize on the X-Men that have been identified in Hong Kong by tonight. Daria tries to protest, since it is too far ahead of schedule. Bastion just glares at her and struts out of the room.
On the floor in her containment cell, Jubilee lies staring up at the ceiling with a bloody nose, a smug look on her face. She grins and says to herself, "PIHH, I showed him."
Second story:
Jubilee is in the kitchen with an apron on. She smiles and waves to us, saying that she is going to show us how to make her famous gargantuan pancakes. First, you have to clean yourself off a nice working space. She goes to the counter and shows us as Angelo walks in. He asks Jubilee who she is talking to and she tells him that his is just in time for breakfast.
Jubilee picks up a box of pancake mix, telling us which brand she prefers, then tells us to mix a healthy portion with water. She dumps the whole box into a bowl as Angelo asks her how much she is putting in there. She says that she usually just eyes it. Jubilee takes the bowl and dumps it into a pan, telling us to put the mixture in a skillet that has been heating on the stove. Angelo scratches his chin and says that he feels like he is on a cooking show. Jubilee points to the pan and says that the tricky part is not burning it and flipping it without it flying to pieces. She flips the pancake up in the air and catches it in the pan.
Most of the team is now gathered around the kitchen table as Jubilee tells us that just one of her gargantuan pancakes can feed at least four people and brings them happiness. Just look at their eyes light up! The team digs into their pancakes, happily.
