Chamber awakens on the small floating mass of vegetation that is adrift in the middle of the ocean and begins to panic as Husk looks very ill. Her skin is peeling off to reveal a very unhealthy layer underneath. As he begins to think he might lose her, M suddenly regains conciousness and rips all of Paige’s skin off and then prises open the black dead form underneath to reveal a healthy, normal Husk beneath this layer. Jono looks stunned, but M tells him she learnt in class that metamorphs are prone to shock in mid-transitional states and she needed help with this particular transition. As Paige sits up, M orders Jono to give her his coat as she is in shock and needs to be kept warm. Jon begins to ask M if she has any idea how they got here, but she tells him she doesn’t and they have more important things to worry about - like the fact that they are in the middle of the ocean with no protection from the sun at all.
At the school, Sean has solemnly taken Emma’s body to the med lab. He blames himself. It was his cousin who attacked the school, abducted the students, and forced him to fight Emma - who is now dead. A distraught Sean promises that he will find the kids and bring them back. He leaves the lab and tells Penance that they have a job to do.
Meanwhile, Jubilee awakens in the secret base of Operation:Zero Tolerance and attacks a group of guards. Disorientated, she remembers being attacked by Mondo, then meeting Bastion then waking up here in a surgical gown and with her hair shaved off. As she tries to figure out what to do next, she realises that one of the guards she attacked is injured and against her better judgement, starts CPR on him. From another part of the base, Bastion watches intently.
In the ocean, Skin has lost control over the coherancy of his skin and it is spred out everywhere. M tries to hold it together before he suffers burns from the sun, but this causes him more pain. Jono blasts a piece of the raft off to cover Skin from the sun, but the raft begins to break apart. Panicking, M takes flight determined to get help, even though she could be thousands of miles from land. As M flies off, Paige asks Jon if they have any hope at all. He tells her they will be fine and to rest. She flips out and throws his coat back at him and tells him she doesn’t need his protection, she’s seen a lot of hardships in her life and if they are going to die it will be as equals.
At the O:ZT base, Jubilee manages to revive the guard who then insults her. More troops arrive and attempt to terminate her but she grabs a blaster and escapes through a ventilation shaft. Bastion, still watching, wonders why she would risk her life to save someone who would kill her.
Back at the school, Emma suddenly returns to life. Nightmare stands over her and tells her he told her so. She tells him that is true, but he only did it for his own gains. He tells her that she can do a service to the nightmare realm in exchange, but she tells him that as soon as she’s found the kids, she will be coming after him.
In the ocean, M suddenly falls from the sky, unconcious. She lands near the raft and Synch dives in to save her. As he pulls her on board, Paige asks if she found anything - M tells them that the truth is that they are all going to die.
At the school, Sean is in the War Room using the computors to scan the globe for Gen X, but it shows up nothing. He looses it and shatters the computor with his scream. Then Emma appears and explains that she controlled his scream not to kill, but stun her and that she purposly lowered her heart rate so Tom would think she was dead. Sean tells her Gen X are gone, but she tells him they are not dead - She knows that feeling - Gen X are alive somewhere.
At that moment, Jubilee falls out of the ventilation shaft and into the snow, knocking herself unconscious. Bastion appears and takes her back into the base.
