ALTERNATE VERSIONS

Thanks to Legion, Utopia was briefly reality warped into the “Age of X.” In this pocket reality, the mutants were fighting a never-ending battle against the forces of humanity. Indra was one of a number of mutant children seen under the protection of mutant resistance in their home of “Sanctuary X.” Mystique would die fighting to protect him and the others from human forces. Interestingly, this particular sequence was a flashback from the artificial reality and Indra did not appear in the contemporary time period. Possibly he was off the island when the warp occurred, meaning this Indra may not have existed at least on Earth-616 and was merely a “memory” created by Legion, as Mystique was for example. Eventually, reality was reset, however a variant of this world had continued on as Earth-11326. [Age of X: Universe #2]

While not actually a counterpart of Paras, the actual Hindu god of war, Indra does also exist in the Marvel Universe as a character. He has appeared in the pages of Thor, initially masquerading as the god Shiva and later as an ally during Thor's battle with the Demigorge. Interestingly, there is a resemblance between the two with Indra the god, also having purple skin. [Thor Annual (1st series) #10, Thor (1st series) #301]
