Gene Nation are the militant descendants of the Morlocks, having grown up in the harsh dimension of The Hill before returning to Earth. The group disbanded after its members were all captured or apparently killed when their former den mother Callisto joined the X-Men against them in Uncanny X-Men #325. They later reorganized under the control of the Dark Beast and his avatar, Wynter in Generation X #50 and X-Man #50. Later still, Marrow took control of Cable's underground network and reconstructed them into a new Gene Nation from Weapon X (2nd series) #13-22.
