The first Brotherhood of Evil Mutants not formed by Magneto, Mystique's Brotherhood consisted largely of new mutant villains. Blob, Pyro and Avalanche remained in prison between Uncanny X-Men #142-177. After Destiny was rescued from detention by Mystique and Rogue, the trio unofficially referred to themselves as the Sisterhood until their male members were freed.
The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants transformed into the government-sponsored Freedom Force in Uncanny X-Men #199.
