This Brotherhood was assembled by Blob for mutual protection against the mutant-hunting Cerebro entity. After Cerebro was defeated, they remained together as mercenaries and villains-for-hire until the High Evolutionary's anti-mutant wave robbed them of their powers in Uncanny X-Men #379.
