Black Spectre was the first militant organization of mind-controlled women assembled by the Mandrill. They battled the likes of Daredevil, Black Widow, the Thing and Shanna the She-Devil.
Black Spectre is notable to the X-Verse because it's founder, high priestess and top field agent (indeed, every member who wasn't part of the generic army) was a mutant, yet it claimed no mutant agenda.
